Installing the SSL Passphrase

If your FileMaker Server SSL certificate contains a passphrase, you'll need to share that with Otto by following the steps below.

  1. From your FileMaker Server, navigate to the Otto application folder.
  2. Open the config directory.
  3. Create a text file named "CERT_PASSPHRASE". Note: Make sure the file does not have an extension, or Otto will not recognize it.
  4. Type the passphrase in that text file as its only contents.
  5. Restart Otto.

On restart, Otto will detect that the file exists, read its contents into encrypted storage, and delete the CERT_PASSPHRASE file, for security purposes.
