Our customers tell us that Otto changes their lives by giving them back their weekends. It also changes their businesses by letting them spend more time focusing on what truly matters and less time doing manual, error-prone tasks. We are excited by how far Otto has come, and we also know there is so much more we can do. Just recently, we released Otto for Linux and implemented enhanced notifications with Slack. As we continue to invest in this product, we feel this is a good time to adjust our pricing to better define and serve our customers.
One size does not fit all
Our Otto customers fall into two categories: retail customers and resellers. Retail customers use FileMaker to run their businesses. Resellers are generally selling FileMaker services or FileMaker-based products to their customers. Both of these customers get great value from Otto, but how they use Otto can differ quite a bit. They also need different support and additional features, and they may need volume licensing and white labeling. We've come up with new plans that are a better fit for each type.
How does this affect existing customers?
Note that if you already have an existing Otto license and subscription, the price will not change. For example, if you have a ten server license, you will continue to pay $800/yr.
For existing customers, new pricing won't affect you unless you change your subscription. If you upgrade from a 10-server license to a 25-server license, your new subscription will be at a new price.
New Retail Plans
The vast majority of our customers are on the 3-server license pack. That price is not changing. So if you are like most of our existing customers, the plan you were likely going to choose is not changing. If you are using Otto to provide products or services to others and need more than 10 servers, you might be a good candidate for the reseller program. to discuss pricing and opportunities, or if you have any questions about these changes.
New Prices
- 3-Server Pack (up to 3 servers): $400 per year ( no change)
- 10-Server Pack (up to 10 servers): $1,250 per year
- 25-Server Pack (up to 25 servers): $2,500 per year
New Reseller License Plans
Reseller plans are available for businesses who want to include or use Otto with their products and services. The benefits for reseller customers are a bit different than for retail plans.

Who is eligible?
Anyone who leverages Otto for their FileMaker-based services is eligible for this plan. If you fall into one of the following categories, a Reseller License is probably a good fit:
- FileMaker consultants or consulting firms that want to use Otto with all their customers
- FileMaker hosting providers
- Vertical Market Solution Providers

The Reseller pricing for Otto is based on volume. to set up a meeting so we can come up with the right plan for you.
When does this take effect?
These pricing changes are already active. All new retail subscriptions will be at this new price, while the price for existing customers remains the same (unless an existing customer changes the type of subscription).
